Tax Credits _
PostSubject: Tax Credits   Tax Credits EmptyFri Feb 04, 2011 7:54 pm

Im really not sure if we get the right amount of CTC and WTC.
I worry about it all the time and im poo-ing myself about the end of tax year incase we get a letter to say we owe them loads of money!
Our circumstances have changed a few times since applying so weve had it changed a few times and ive rung them about 5 times too.
If someone is willing could you please pm me how much you get?
Pref in the same circumstances as us, i dont work but Luke does (he doesnt get paid loads but doesnt get paid crap either)
Thank you, i just cant stop worrying about it!

heya - our circumstances have changed loads but when i was working full time (hubby is a student so doesn't qualify for wtc) we got approx 300 per month wtc and 250 ctc (that's for a baby under 1)

now that i have finished maternity and not returned to work (yaaaay) we don't qualify for wtc or childcare (boooooo) and will only be getting 250 per month ctc plus standard child benefit

hope that helps a wee bit Smile

We got £40 a month after Izzy turned 1

That was with Dan full time earning a reasonable salary, and me part time earning £9k

Although when I checked the calculator to see with me earning £50-60 and Dan earning £5k more for this year it said £37 a month...but waiting to hear officially as they wont tell me over the phone!

What do you get Terri?

Sorry for the late reply.
We get £147 per 4 weeks CTC and £357 WTC at the moment (which seems like loads?) But its gone down as Lukes earnings for the year is 9,200 april 2010-2011 (he was unemployed for a few months)
We were getting more ctc before as his earnings from 09-10 are less (when we were in cyprus)
Then its says from april 2011-2012 (in his new job earning more now) we will get £267 wtc and £214 ctc
Does that make sense, im mega confused and dont get it at all, were do they pluck these figures from?
I think it seems quite alot?!

hmm it does seem alot in comparison to what we get...but I wouldn't want to try and live on £9200, so with what you are getting ctc and wtc its the equivalent of around £15k a year - probably is right

We get £74.40 a month and that is for two kids, with one under 1 years old.

It is based on an income of approximately £40k a year, although I havent told them about me not being at work, so we should get some money back when the renewal time comes.

mine atm is £125 PW ctc only thats on adams salary of £8k and mine on smp of £12.5 k

although by the end of the year adam will have earned more so they will take some back off me.

when i told them about E i also told them they had underestimated adams earing by £6k but it still went up by £40 per week. i think they just pull a figure out of midair!
