Right Ladies, what do you think? _
PostSubject: Right Ladies, what do you think?   Right Ladies, what do you think? EmptySat Sep 04, 2010 12:22 am

Ok, so I have recently come up with a theory. I will try to explain as clearly as I can :-

1) Giving birth = not so much fun
2) Being filmed giving birth = not something most women would consider (due to point 1)

Well, here's the thing - I had a shitty time of it last time, I won't go into it (although I have about 15 pages of A4 in two letters to the hospital on it!) but basically I am terrified of giving birth again - but thankfully am still in the denial stages - the only thing keeping me sane at the moment.

I am also thinking that my luck will determine another set of useless midwives, more things done against my will etc etc. even though I've done all I can so far by making sure I go to a different hospital. But - hmmm - what else could I do?!

WELL - brainwave - take the video camera! We have a tripod, small video camera, wouldn't even necc. need to be on the whole time - if at all! I honestly won't give two hoots once I'm in labour - but just having it there I have the reassurance that the events are being watched, hubby doesn't have to hold it etc. and all that takes place will be under the guise of 'being recorded' (whether it actually is or not Wink )

Then I have one of three things:

1) a record of events - including any proof of any negligence
2) something which can easily be erased if it serves no purpose but to remind me of the blood and gore! Laughing
3) Hopefully - HOPEfully -it could actually turn out to be an amazing keepsake and aside from a few screams could actually be a reminder of a more positive birth experience

What do you reckon scratch Question

I'm staying in denial as long as possible Laura Laughing
I'm glad you think it's a good idea ladies - wasn't sure I was explaining it right - but I figure it can't do any harm, can it?! And if it helps towards making me feeling even a tiny bit more comfy/confident/relaxed/reassured in labour then it must be a good thing scratch xx

Pepper, I can only remember the horrid bits Sad have about 1min total of new baby memory, if that Sad

It's sounding like a plan then... I prefer the idea of the tripod though as it can be used table top or floor and won't take up that much space - but I much prefer it to hubby having to hold it. Oh yeah and it'll be up on you tube the next day Katie Laughing No pale affraid Laughing

I mentioned this to my OH and he said that we are not filming it.

But I quite like the idea so think I might do it anyway!
