i know i shouldn't compare, and i was never really bothered until last week...but lewis constantly babbles, and he does say mama, daddy, car, hiya, bye, 'eeya'(cya) but doesn't say much else...which seemed reasonable, but at playgroup last week a lil boy that is only a month older than him can name all the animals and what noise they make and says his own name and loads of other things :S

what does/did everyone elses say at 15months???

Hey,

Andrew at Lewis' age could only say a few words, mummy, daddy, all gone, uh oh, bye, hiya and a couple more so same stage really, he only really started saying more words around 20ish months but once he started talking it was like a button clicked and he could just talk!!

Sophie on the other hand has learnt to talk gradually but she has always had Andrew to copy off! She copies everything he says!! She is probably above average for her speech. She has a friend called Sophia who is about a month older than her and she can say more and she knows things like animals etc and her friend doesnt.

All babies learn at different paces, honestly dont worry about it! There really is no need!!

TBH very little other than mummy, daddt, hello, the basics

She really didn't start to say much til she started to walk, which was around 18 mths

Now she learns something every single day - today it was Pretty Please while leaning forwards with her bum out looking towards some chocolate...where has she learnt that?!

lita...lewis is dead clever and understands...like today i told him we were going to bed and said 'give mummy blankey' he instantly passed it, then i asked for his dummy and again, instantly understood and passed it, so i know his understanding is fine

maybe our boys just don't wanna talk much! lol

although lewis never actually shuts up Laughing

Ollie is exactly the same, he understands what I'm saying to him and also never shuts up - it's just what he's babbling doesn't make any sense Laughing

At 15 months Thomas could say daddy and that is it, nothing else, so compared to him Lewis is doing great hun. He didn't say much else until he was 21 months when he just decided it was a good time to talk and I swear he hasn't shut up since! Thomas was also an early walker etc so he must've been too preoccupied with moving and scaling sideboards to worry about talking. Lol.

C was an early talker and a late walker. Even now shes very advanced for her age communication wise but doesnt really run (she tries) etc. just putters along happily. I think they all have their own time scales and if he ca understand you then the rest will follow xxx

yeah i wouldnt worry hun, sounds like he is doing fine. oliver was early with his first words(clap, catch and kick) at about10 months, but hasnt really got a huge vocabulary now
its mostly basics like mummy ,daddy, eeo(leo) all gone, doggy piggy, buggerbear(gummy bear) quick, yeah, no and a few other words but he understands perfectly well too and mostly responds by shaking or nodding his head...im sure like the rest he will be chatting away soon enough and you will wish he would shurrup a bit Laughing x

Mia can say hiya, ta, mumma, dada, oh dear, all done (aw du), love you (uv oo), no (nuh) she makes a monkey noise and a cow noise too. She said her first word about 8 months. Think she's gonna be a late walker though. x

Wil was only saying a few words at 15 months. His speech has taken off since Christmas (about 19 months) and now he has new words everyday and speaks in little sentences. He understands every word but chooses what he says.
