Same here hun. I got some money for my birthday last week and was shopping for new shoes for myself (if you really knew me, you'd know I am mad on bags and shoes, oh and coats lol) anyhoo, after trying a few pairs on and oliver even undoing them and passing them to me..I actually felt guilty, put the shoes down and walked out I've still got that money in my purse now |

| Some people seem to see their kids as more of a hindrence (sp?) than a blessing.
It's sad, she obviously didn't plan her little boy and clearly doesn't think he's worth giving up her life of partying for him. x |

| I have been reading the posts but didn't want to comment as I'm not sure I know who it is? Or do I? lol.. Ahh from what I've heard..I just can't understand how this person can afford to go out and not only that..why the heck would you want to leave your child that often?! Myself and my oh are extremely fortunate financially, especially for our age and he works all the hours god sends so we are well provided for that's why when we get a bit of precious time together..we spend it as a family..I have been out clubbing once and my son is nearly 8 months old |

| Exactly Sunshine - My Lo is nearly 21mths and me and OH haven't been out for over 2yrs (last time was a meal out for my birthday when I was pg with LO). We have just planned to go out for OH's b-day..in, wait for this - November lol I asked my mum if she would babysit and she was all for it Then I looked across at my son and felt pangs of guilt Silly really..cos he probably can't wait for us to get out the door...as soon as nana arrives lately, he's getting his coat on and off out the door |

| My treat is my hair every 6 weeks getting cut and every other time I have it coloured cause I can't afford it everytime round! I do try to save £15-£20 a week to buy the kids and me clothes and treats but that doesn't always work out!
I got excited this week cause my mum cooked twice for us and we had a take away once so I didn't have to cook! I am that sad!
I don't know how people do justify going out that often after all having kids means you have to change your priorities!

| aww Zeemoo.. you way deserve some quality time with your oh after all that time! Don't get me wrong, I don't ever go "out out" now..because I know that I'd rather spend the money and time on my son but I think it is equally important to spend quality time with your oh if you can get it, I think otherwise you can lose yourself sometimes as being a mum is so emotionally/time consuming. Although it is always so hard to leave them, it is a god send if you have someone to babysit for a few hours one evening so you can go to the cinema or for a walk etc or even just pamper yourself if you need it! |

| I go against the grain a little here, I go out with the girls once a week, not to get piddled but to get a bit of me time, Chloe is either in bed or just about to go and Daddy stays in with her, and me and Matt go out once or twice a month and get a babysitter. I also don't feel guilty about spending money on myself
The reasons why are Matt works very hard to support us, I work 4 mornings a week and run my cake business, we claim no benefits so feel we're entitled to spend a little on ourselves. Chloe has everything she could possibly want, all the toys she needs, her nanny buys her so many clothes I hardly ever have to, so I don't feel bad about buying myself something. I need a little time to myself and me and Matt need time to be a couple not just a mum and Dad, she has all the love and attention she needs during her waking hours as I'm only at work for a couple of hours in the morning, so I don't see the problem in going out whilst she's asleep and having someone sit with her as she is none the wiser.
I think it's all about getting a balance which works for you |

| is it really sad that i now wish i had fb so i could have read what the ho ha was lol! Hey atleast one thing has come from it, non of you have to see her annoying posts and status's Im like most of you! am riddled with guilt when i spend money on myself, rarely go out, and actually even if i do i tend to drive so i dont spend much money and so i am ok to get up with the boys in the morning. i always try to have a sitter at my house so the boys are at home and comfortable. |

| I don't think that's against the grain Mandy..well not from my point of view. Myself and my oh are in a similar position to you, he also works very hard and we claim no support so we do spend money on ourselves but equally our son has everything he needs but I agree it's important to spend time not just as a mother but as a wife or girlfriend and for yourself too. There's nothing wrong with that at all, I just think constantly clubbing or spending time/money on things that aren't a priority can be quite detrimental to your relationship with your child and that's such a shame |
