| Do you have any superstitions?? Are you superstitious or do you think its a precursor to OCD?? Are omens for real or are they just coincidence?? Who were these Old wives and were they really full of wisdom?? I find this subject fascinating. I do have a few superstitions : I never cross knives (in the sink/on the plate) I always throw salt over my left shoulder. I never stir a saucepan with a knife (apparently you stir trouble). I try not to cross people on the stairs. I dont know why I do them, I suppose its habit and the fear of tempting fate |

| I tap my head when I say touch wood, I throw salt over my left shoulder, NEVER put new shoes onto a table, make sure the toilet lid is down before flushing the loo and keeping the lid down and the door closed (something to do with flushing money away) on the 1st January every year I fling open the front and back door (when I had them now it is the front door and back window) open to bring the new in and let the old out (brings luck for the forthcoming year as all the badness/negative vibes from the previous year has been blown away).
I have so many but when I went to live with my mum at the age of 9 I picked up some of her OCD habits. My dad did the throwing salt over the left shoulder into the Devils eyes and tapping the head lol xxx |

| I will never walk under a ladder..get sorta spooked when a black cat crosses my path...and have gotten upset at breaking a mirror and opening an umbrella in the house. Also..have had some remorse when squashing a spider. xxx |

| My nan was soooo superstitious. Her birthday was valentines day 14th Feb, well when she died we found out that her birthday was actually 13th but she refused to acknowledge it as it was unlucky My mum has inherited some of these superstitions like shoes on the table, crossed knives, knife on the floor you must stamp on it etc etc very bizarre! |

| Mines a bit of an obscure one but when someone passes away at work and its my job to prepare/lay them out i always open the door or window as it allows the spirit to escape. Also throw salt over my left shoulder. Otherwise not so much |
