Holidays in the UK _
PostSubject: Holidays in the UK   Holidays in the UK EmptyFri Mar 25, 2011 7:42 pm

Decided to just have a holiday in UK this year as I don't want to be pregnant abroad but need some help deciding what to do. I've found a caravan park in South Wales that my aunty says is fab. Indoor pool, jungle gym, entertainment every night, clubs for Immi to go to on her own for an hour or so, bowling, mini golf and beach near by. Sounds good, it's £239 for a week. Does anyone know if this is a decent price? I have no idea when it comes to caravan holidays Holidays in the UK 548646 Laughing Can anyone recommend anywhere else at this sort of price? Whats the weather like in South Wales end of May? x

Thanks Claire, seems like it's a decent price then.

Char - i collected sun vouchers for those holidays but never sent them off Laughing you only get a couple of days and have to pay more for more days and the entertainment stuff isn't included so have to pay extra for that. For my peace of mind I decided to just book something direct as i can't handle all the hidden extra costs.

I'm desperate to go abroad but i was in and out of hospital in the last 10wks of preg with Imogen so i'm scared something will happen when abroad.I think i'll just book this Wales holiday.x

Thats a shame. I looked at a park further west as I've been to that area before, but it had no where near as good facilities as this one. x

Well Shell your in luck I can tell you all about it lol! It's in porthcawl which is where we go for the day if were goingto the beachit's about 40 mins from me! Te beach is right by it, the fair is a bit manky and run down but the actual caravan park is lovely. Theres a few pubs onsite and arcades a shop and a fish and chip shop. The indoor pool looks great from the outside never actually been in there though, it looks quite big though and it's in a nice building.

ummmm the weather is a bit hit and miss really generally like the rest of the uk but I would say that pthcawl tends to get th best of it, my mil and fil go every year with their little girl and the grandkids wo are 7 5 and 2 and they absolutley love it x

LisaG and I are going with our LOs to Cornwall in a caravan, its cost about £150 for us all, for 4 nights and that includes all the electric and and entertainment

I did it through the Daily Mail - but if you got it direct from Haven it would be about double at least - so yeh the price you found is not bad at all.

the sun are doing £15 holidays starting tomorrow, we going to look at that.

its easier when the kids are not in school, for a caravan for a week in school holidays you looking around £500, which is silly when the week before school holiedays its £250. but hey thats another rant lol

enjoy the holiday hun, also with the holiday abroad, you might not have gotten health insurance because you had issues in the past, hope that helps with knowing you not going abroad xx

Yeah there is a fair in Porthcawl too! Also if you are up for a walk you can quite easily walk into town from Treco Bay. I used to go to Porthcawl fair quite often when I was younger. There is a good little park by the fair Smile Jungle Jims used to be brilliant for toddlers and splashland is an ok pool, nothing special but ok.

There are a few reasonably priced off site places to eat in Porthcawl too Smile
