I remember having X-Rays as a kid and my Mum had to stand behind a glass/plastic screen thingy.
Well when Tayla was born she had to have X-Rays but i had to stand with her next to the table while they did them, is that not dangerous? Sorry if i sound completely stupid but just popped into my head and thought id ask!

Did you wear a led apron? Im pretty sure that protects you pretty well so the risks should be teeny!

I think they prefer you to stand away if possible but in the case of a baby who may role/be scared they prob prefer parent to be there. I suppose a technician could have done it but it would be more dangerous for them to have to do it everyday than a parent do it a cpl of times in a lifetime.

Im pretty sure you have no need to worry! If you think about it when you are x-rayed yourself you are exposed to radiation anyway, so a few extra as a parent wont be dangerous. x

I had an xray on my hip yesterday and the man stood next to me whilst having it done as I was in so much pain he had to hold my leg as kept lifting it up.
I think its advices to stand behind the glass and wear lead aprons but most people will have an xray at some point in there life so we are all exposed at some point

they think i have arthritis or osteoporosis im an old lady really
