we have applied for a house near where we live its so nice just what we are looking for close to town but not to close (if that makes sence)
and i cant help but feel extreamly excited they asked for referances from mine and ians work our landlady and the bank!
i just was wondering if anyone knew what bank referances where? what kinda thing do they put?
we never go over our over draft and if we go into our over draft we pay it off asap!

Not sure about bank refs but surely it's just to confirm you have an account, your salary goes in and you manage your account well (sounds like you manage it well to me) good luck with the house xx

A bank reference or status enquiry is usually a form asking the bank their opinion on if you're good for the rent basically, not that many people use them anymore as credit referencing is usually done instead
The agents will usually send a letter asking if the bank think you are good for the sum of the rent.

Bear in mind the banks charge for this and may take the charge out of your bank account if the agents don't pay it when they send the request, it's usually£10-£15 and can take a couple of weeks to come back
