Caitlin will start nursery in Sept 2013 when she is over 4 and Primary in Sept 2014 when she is 5 yrs 2 months.

Far too bloody old imo! I dont think I need to even think about applying for nurserys until Nov/Dec nect year, and then apply to primary schools Nov/Dec 2013.

Suzi = England is slightly different to NI as here July/August babies are the oldest in the year (hence Caitlin starting a year later than Mara's Sam). But if Gracies was here she would be starting nursery in Sept 2012 (and turn 4 half way through the school year), and then would start primary in Sept 2013 and turn 5 half way through. Here you apply by the Jan before you start. Did that make ANY sense lol?!

Your educations system confuses me. We have nursery at age 3/4 and then start primary at 4/5. We do 7 years in Primary (P1-P7) and then another 5 years in secondary (Year 8-12) up to GCSE. Im starting to think we do an extra year here somehow - even though some kids start alot older

she will get a free nursery place from 2, might be worth looking at nurseries, if you can get one attached to a school you like that will help with transisitions and making friends
