I go to a wriggle and giggle group on a Tuesday with Ava which is just singing and dancing, today hardly anyone turned up so they decided to do finger painting instead, she said the paints were washable so I let ava play with the others, she had a brand new top on and got blue paint on it and its ruined, the girl that runs the group said if it didnt come out I could make a claim but I feel bad as its a surestart centre and all the classes are free, what would you do?

depends on how expensive the top was...well to me anyway, if it was liiiiike 4.50 i wouldn't be bothered but if it was 20 quid or something i would probably ask for it back - or just make sure they know that the paint does stain and hopefully at least it wouldn't happen again?

Im not sure, tbh, I dont trust the washable paints completely so I probably wouldnt claim.

I think it would depend how encouraging she was when she assured me that it was washable, iykwim.

it was £16, i wouldn't normally put her in 'good clothes' for playgroup but we were going out for lunch with my mum after. Im definately going to mention it because the blue paint stained all of her hand as well and its still not gone after a soak in the bath

i would be a bit p*ssed off at that really, especially if she was quite convincing about it being washable. eli got covered in blue elc finger paint and it came off no trouble so it isn't that hard to find!

I'm not sure, thing is they probably wouldn't claim through insurance, it would come out of the funds I expect - So I probably wouldn't for that reason - although I'd be mad!

I too ruined a really nice top, hardly been used, if at all, I actually put a another top over it to protect it but the paint soaked through around the neck and stained it :-(

I probably wouldn't claim, and would try a good stain remover to get it out. I bought some so called washable paints for Chloe and it took me 5 days to get it off her hands! Fortunately she was covered in an apron so it didn't ruin any clothes, but the sheet I put down has been washed more than 15 times and the paint still is on there, so she may have genuinely bought washable ones and they were just crap. xx

hmm... Im not sure, to be honest, i probably would claim if her hands have been stained aswell, if they have stained that bedly, are they also non toxic and suitable for the age group?... id feel bad about claiming, but i still probably would. I am pretty pissed off with sophies nursery (the surestart centre runs it) so actually i wouldnt even feel that bad after they ripped us off for bank holidays lol.
