| would you? I know that it sounds like an obvious question, but im not so sure. I have a good job, which pays well, and I cut my hours down to 8.30 am to 11.30 am 5 days a week when Aimee was born. I still get a pretty decent hourly wage from it. I also do some work for my brothers poker business, which fits in well at home. So... after this baby I am trying to decide whether or not to go back to my day job. Financially, I dont have to. We wouldnt be loaded, but we would be able to manage. But... I just dont know that I can give up such a well paid job, at such little hours, as I know that in a few years I will be wanting to work and it would be perfect. I think my mind is going to explode! lol x |

| Nope..I love being able to stay at home! One day I will go back to work, but I like being here for the kids, can enjoy Maky this time, as I missed out with Matt and Madisyn. Work has it's benefits tho(money aside) as it's nice to get out and associate with grown ups and all the work you do is appreciated(not like at home). xxx |

| if i didnt have to then i still would do a few hours, being a sahm drove me insane and i love adult company and i'm a better mom when i have a break.
but that was with son who had loads of issues and i needed the break more than anything with his autism and adhd.
but i was thinking today wouldnt it be nice not to have to work and be a sahm, but i do think it would drive me nuts, but working from home sounds fun.
but then again if i'm expecting more than one i might not have the option of going back to work because couldnt afford the childcare and being on comid big chance of more than one,,woooo cant wait lol |

| I don't HAVE to work, we could 'cope' on Dan's money, but it would be horrible!
We dont get benefits other than statutory stuff which is peanuts and I am sure even if I didn't earn we wouldn't get any more - and we just wouldn't have money to do the nice things in life like going on expensive holidays - we'd also have to ermmmm budget on stuff like food and heating whereas now we don't think about it.
If the situation were different and I didn't have to work to afford the nice things ... I dont know what I'd do to be honest, Id get bored not working or doing something! |

| Very good points raised. We still have nice things and certainly wouldnt go without, esp. as I can continue the poker work at home so will still get some income. In all honesty, I wish I could take 3 years out of my job and then go back to the same job/salary after that, but I dont think my boss would be up for it x |

| If we had the money, if Rob got his promotion he would be earning enough for me to stay at home with Harry, which I would love to do, but I would have to have a little job on a weekend or something or I'd go insane lol xx |

| I would jump at the chance to go back to work part time. I love my babies to bits but god do I miss adult conversation and just basically having something for myself. I don't have to work, we could manage on OH wages (just) and tbh I don't mind that standard of living but I really look forward to the day I can get a little job of my own. If my mum lived closer I would go back to work as soon as my MA stops but as it stands to pay two lots of childcare for me to go back would be barely worth it. I guess I would rather bring my own children up than miss out on time with them for the sake of an extra £100 a month. I am thinking of starting up a little buisness of my own in the new year with the help of one of my lovely friends I think it's far too early for you to be thinking about this hun. Give it time and see how you feel when you are due back in 2012 - you may feel differently? or be pg again? xx xx |

| I don't have to work, but things would be really tight if I didn't and I would rather be able for us to enjoy life rather than watching every penny.
I hate being away from Chloe but enjoy the break all at the same time if you know what I mean, I wish I could work less days. I do 20 hours but it's spread over 4 days, which means I only get afternoons with her and she's normally alseep for most of them! In an ideal world I'd love to work just a couple of mornings a week. |

| Laura I'm in the same situation as you. I'm very over paid for my job so if I left I know I wouldn't get the same wage somewhere else. Ideally I'd like to just work 2 full days - Monday and Wednesday, and spend the rest of the time with Amelia.
Although it's a huge effort to get into work I actually enjoy it when I'm there. I'm not sure I'd like to be a perma SAHM as I need a bit of time out, otherwise I go a bit mental |

| If I didn't need to do a 'proper job' for the money I would stop in a heartbeat and focus on my coaching and get involved in more stuff locally that I can't fit in at the moment. I couldn't be a SAHM because Wil and I would drive each other mad. My ideal would be to work a 2/3 days a week on coaching, have a day with Wil, spend a day doing domestic stuff and a day on myself, then have the weekends for us as a family. |
