got to say i was sort of expecting this but possibly not by 15 months Laughing

elijah has always been a bit ermmm fiery, but recently if things aren't going his way/you take things off him he has been having full on screaming/tears/throwing himself at walls/floor tantrums, he smacked the back of his head off the wall today and is currently throwing himself repeatedly back at the floor cos i won't give him daddy's headphones back....

how do you deal with it? i generally keep an eye on him to make sure he isn't actually damaging himself and ignore it...theres no point in trying to pick him up (ohhh he has just spotted a book and is now sat reading it - i see!) and paying attention to him seems to make it worse???

am i doing the right thing? i don't put him in his cot or anything just leave him to it? Neutral

i think there must be something in the air cos Evan has been in tantrum central for the past week, its driving me up the wall but yeah i am just leaving him to get on with it and ignoring him, he snaps out of it in seconds if i ignore him!

Definitely ignore it, it's just their way of attention seeking. I tell Chloe that I am not going to listen to her while she behaves like that and leave her to it. It usually blows over quickly

benji is like this already mari Shocked he high pitch screams if he can't have the tv remotes...we used to just give him then, but its got to the point where we cant even turn tv over Laughing
so we've had to start taking them off him, he high pitch screams, goes as red as his hair Razz Laughing and then cries really loud!!
we tell him that its naughty/not good etc and then ignore him...
we're having problmes with him constantly being on the coffee table Rolling Eyes up on the coffee table, yanking everything off the table...gaaahhh

my little Ava is the tantrum queen when she doesn't get her own way. I have two tactics, distraction which usually works, if not completely ignore her and walk out the room, she usually follows with open arms for a snuggle.

alfie is big on tantrums too. he trys his wicked way to get round me. if he wants something he will do it, and nothing will stop him. even the nursery have commented on how strong minded he is. i tend to say "no thats very naughty" and move him away from the situation and distract him and it tends to work most of the time. x
