leo:
due 18th dec o4, date came and went, i wasnt allowed a sweep as i had low iron so had to get my levels back up, was finally booked for an induction on the 30th dec, wnet in at 7:45, at 9:30 was givven a prostoglandin pessery and told he was still back to back. once the pessery was in it started working almost streight away(felt constipated
)but nothing too bad, had a walk round and took some paracetamol.
at 3:30pm they came to check me(after being on a monitor) was having contractions but bearable, i was 3cm, so they broke my waters and moved me to the delivery room, i got in the bath and my contractions got stronger.
at 5:30pm she came to check me again as id asked for gas and air, i was 7cm(she said id be hours yet and wouldnt give me gas and air
so i got diamorphine which was naff)by 7:45 and a lot of bouncing on the birthing ball i needed something else so finally got gas and air
8pm i felt like i needed to push, so she checked and i was ready. i tried all fours, stood up kneeling but decided in the end sitting on bed was working the best.
9:15pm baby's heartrate had dropped to 87 so they were getting worried(said he was clasping the cord or it was round his neck), they explaind that because of his position he was getting stuck on my hip bone, so they decided they would use vontouse, as soon as i saw them scissors i got a rush of energy from nowhere(althought they still managed to cut me
but i pushed him out befor they used the vontouse. they plonked him on me and quickley untangled the cord, cut it and wisked him away, he was blue, wasnt moving or making any sound. i could hear the mw saying 'come on baby' and putting the bag and mask on him, then finally he cried and it was the best sound in the world
my little man born at 9:27pm weighing 7lb13, he was perfect
good points:
6 hours from waters breaking
i was very mobile and bouncy(birthing ball) the whole was throught
the gas and air(all of 15 mins)
my mum and oh was there
bad points:
pushing was quite long
he went into bradycardia*
i got cut
they wouldnt give me gas and air*hump*
diamorphine was crap
funny point: i fell off the birthing ball when i had the gas and air

i was due on the 26.08,on the 29th i woke at 6am with strong period type pains, by 11am they had turned into contractions every 5 mins, quite intense but not lasting long so i decided to get in the car(stupid idea) and go to my aunties as i was by myself at home with leo, rung oh and said prepare to leave work ect...by the time oh finished work at 4:30 i was having longer contractions about 9mins apart then gradually got closer to 7mins apart at about 9pm.
by 12pm i had gotten very tired and contractions were getting quite unbareable every 5 mins so at 1:30am decided it was time to go in...was absolutley gutted when i got there and they said i was only 3cm, was in absolute agaony but they wouldnt give me anything. she said she would check again in 2 hours, by this point i was sobbing i was in that much pain, but was only 5cm i got gas and air
it was kind of a blurr from there on in but all i remember is thinking something wasnt right and i had the most awful pain between contractins(best way to describe it is an iron being held against the inside of my back)so i cas constantley breathing in the gas and air so couldnt tell them i thought something was wrong
(i knew it wasnt right, it was totally different from my 1st labou but they couildnt understand that)
anyhow must have said something as the next thing i remember is them telling me they were getting permission to give me pethadine for the pain in my back as i was 9cm...so had that and felt the first bit of reliefe for hours...2mins later it was time to push
the first push she pinched my waters to break them as they still hadnt gone. i remember the pushing being so painful and thought something was wrong it just felt wrong, his head came after 10 mins, one more push they said(was so relieved)but when i pushed the most awful pain ever shot through me, again they said...again the pain, then the mw pulled him and i screamed ouit in agony. i heard one mw say 'he's not coming' then shouted to oh to pull the red cord on the wall and saying something about an emergency c section(all the time his head was out
)people started panicking and running about, i thought'omg im gonna lose this baby' so i got a huge adrennaline rush and pushed through the pain(prolapsed my womb and tore front and back)....but there he was at 9:32on sunday 30th aug, a perfect 8lb 2 little boy he was worth every second of the pain and i fell in love streight away:
took him home the following afternoon(had to stay oin due to blood loss and 2nd degree tears) just goes to show how different 2 labours and births can be' id have 20 of my 1st labours befor one of my 2nd

i couldnt even move, i sat in the chair the whole time, i dont even know how i got on the bed
funny ponts: i kept hearing someone talking a forgein language
i was saying i just wanted to die when i was pushing and begging my mum to let me die
