| My two do this too and I sometimes think its down to the effort of behaving at school all day, then when they get home they can't relax!!
I still haven't found a cure for it though, but have found they are slightly better if they come in and have a snack (bowl of cereal or cereal bar) almost straight away!
Good luck

| Mine still come home like this in yr 2 and yr 6.... I think it's the conforming all day, having to sit still. I asked a teacher yesterday if they gave all the kids a can of red bull at 2.45.... She was totally straight faced and said nope we go to assembly at 2.30 and the kids sit still for 25 mins, they then go back to class get their bags then come out ... Her words were she feels like running out like them too, it bores the pants off them.. In the summer we walk home through the park, and they run off some steam. in this weather they take bikes and scooters so their energy is channelled concentrating on riding |

| My childminder swears by taking all the kids she looks after to the park for 1/2 hour straight from school so they can run round and burn off the pent up energy they gather during the day.
Not easy in this weather but even walking home might help.
The other potential option is to organise some kind of high energy activity for straight after school, football, swimming, martial arts? |
