to be honest its not the chav names that bother me its more the names of people i've had a prob with or come up too much at work as troubled kids that i wouldnt want....

I used to work with someone called malaena. Sounds like a nice name til you get into nursing and find out malaena is a term for a lower gastric bleed when you poo with blood in it

Luckily when the baby was born she changed her mind and called her Mia, which I really like.
I work in a call centre and the names I see are mental. Some blokes name the other day was An! pronounced how its spelt!

My friend is obsessed with little mermaid and wants to her her future daughter (if she has one) Ariel.....

i know some one with 3 girls who are called - atlanta peach, april cherry and tulullah bliss! also some one woth a little boy called aspen blue,

you do hear some strange names sometimes but each to their own i suppose!!! lol!!

I think it's sometimes a class thing as well, if people for example had a daughter named Atlanta and was a jeremy kyle reject it would be chavvy but then if the gwyneth paltrows of this world had the same it would be seen as different or eccentric.

I think you associate a name with being chavvy if you KNOW a Chavvy person with that name..
like Vicki Pollard lol since little britan you here vicky and that's who you think of which then makes you think chav.

there never were chavs where I come from so I don't think of many names as chavvy but my OH who lived in england always puts down my name choices saying they're chavvy (his name is Leif btw!!!)

a name on my list has appeared on here but i won't be having a chav baby!!

Hehehe dont worry am not offended at all. I associate names with other kids. I used to love the name Jessica but there was a little girl used to live down the road from us called Jessica and she was a little scruffy horrible thing so now i hate the name just because i associate it with her!! xxx

Well I'm just writing a list of what NOT to call this LO

a woman stays across the road from me and has named her little boy mckenzie. but after the clothes make and all she wears is mckenzie clothes and all her kids wear are mckenzie clothes - im sorry but that is chavvy. shes about 30 isnt it time to grow up a bit? she keeps mckenzie in business.

chloe used to be really chavvy in my area but now its not to common I actually think its really pretty.

I think its all got to do with how popular a name gets - the more popular the name becomes the more chavvy it seems? and also seems like areas have something to do with it as I would never think harrison was a chavvy name at all.
