also someone i know called their little boy wade, baby number 2 on the way, she wanted to call it wayde(notice how theyre spelt different lol) thank god she is having a girl.
id tell you the chavvy names round here but i dont want to offend anyone although i dont think any banda babys/kids have these names anyway x

Just thought of another one! Not so much chavvy bit just on the odd side! A girl in Aron's class is called Shayde!! I was convinced he made it up but no it's a real one!!

I call chavvy names come 'ere names - stand by any playground or school gate and listen to all the chavvy mums screaming at their kids and they are the names to avoid in my opinion.

The other thing I think cheapens a name is when a celebrity baby is given a name and people copy it, e.g. Kai was fine until Wayne Rooney's son was called that and a million other people copied him.

I am a great believer that your name has to last a lifetime so it should fit when you are a baby, not incite bullying at school, look good on a CV regardless of what job you go for (imagine your doctor or lawyer being called 'Princess') and sound reasonable when you are in a nursing home.

Lol my childminder told me this morning that she looks after 2 sisters and their brother and they are called Sapphire, Emerald and McKenzie lol

my mum wanted to call my sisters Amber and Scarlet... to go with Jade making the colours of the traffic lights lol and if she had a boy she wanted to call him blue.

my friend and his gf called their baby sky. they told us all the way through the pregnancy that her name was going to be amy so when they announced sky I was like wth? thats a dogs name! but after a day I got used to it and I actually think its quite pretty

i think there is a big difference between a chavvy sounding name and one that is just down right stupid.

Lee-roy is chavvy
mckenzie (sp) one of my friends have called her kids

hey! I do say our ellie, not to her but if I'm talking about her and so do most of the people I know (but not our kid, our mam)

I used to know someone who called her daughter Precious! She had 4 boys and desperately wanted a girl so when no 5 was a girl I guess she was pleased!! Her oldest son was Sid, not odd at all until you are told his middle name was Vicious (SP)!!!

I agree that celebrities have alot to do with it, then pick some really nice names then chavs copy them making them seem chavvy!

For the scouse (and manc?) thing; it's not the saying 'ar' ("our") - it's the fact that this mother purosely did it so the name would come out ArMarni... and apparently used to buy labelled clothes to that end; like she had bought into the brand or something...
Either call her it or not though but either way, Armarni is chav-tastic! Although I think her and Givenchy would be great pals

I know someone (when I was in Women's refuge) who's kid was called Brandon with the middle name Lee, Brandon is a nice name (I think any way) and another mum's kid had the middle name Aladin (sp??) and her daughter was called Jasmine pmsl I love Jasmine as a girls name but a kid in hubbys family had that name and she died when she was 5 so we'd never choose that. When we were preg we thought about how the name would sound with Dr in fromt of it, does it sound professional enough etc... I think Bianca is a chavvy name, luckily hubby and I have similar ideas as to names we like xxx
