I swear I was browsing through here on my phone the other day and saw a post from you in weddings about having a mini casino type thing? Am I going mad?

Anyway - I dragged the lappy out to reply (coz I hate typing big replies on my phone) and it's gone. Was just gona say I think its a great idea hun, I have been worrying myself about what guests will do to stay amused between day and evening. Our wedding is going to follow a similar timetable to yours so like you say there is a 1 1/2 - 2 hour 'gap'. I ave been thinking of maybe having games, activities, bouncy castle for kids etc but thats the one bit of the day Im a bit worried about. I know adults are pretty good at mingling and drinking and keeping themselves busy but I have a lot of kids/teens going to my wedding and I need to think of something that suits everybody. Any ideas welcome.

I do love the idea of the casino type thing hun but not sure how it would work? do you hire somebody to run it etc? Would they be gambling cold hard cash or would you maybe have prizes in exchange for chips etc? very interesting! I know most people like a game with a prize and it brings out the competative side in people which can be quite fun so I'm gonna have a good think about it and I'll let ya know if I come up with anything interesting.

the way it works is you hire them, usually a 3hour slots so it over-runs into the disco so those not wanting to dance yet can still play...you hire a company and they provide the tables and croupiers....

no cash is allowed so they provide the chips and at the end of the evening the person with the most amount left wins a prize...you provide the prize though!

the problem is that it's not a cheap option....a place i was looking an hour ago charges £330 just for the 2tables...£475 for 3(blackjack, roulette and poker)

i really like the idea as the adults will be well amused...doesn't leave much for the kids though!

Aww that does sound cool though hun. It is rather expensive but it would be one of those 'touches' that would set your wedding aside from the rest. If it's something you think your family would be into then I say go for it. You only get wed once (hopefully ) and I honestly believe that once the ceremony is over it should just be about having fun.
