the past 4 nights eli has been up every hour or two, wont sleep without being fed, cries everytime he is put down (asleep or awake), argh i feel like i havent had 5 minutes!

he doesnt seem ill, nappies/temp/feeding have been the same (this us in shorthand cos i have horace in the other arm haha) maybe feeding a bit more but otherwise he seems ok just really clingy and reluctant to sleep...

i wonder if hes picking up on my stressed vibes????

mari if he is wanting to be fed every time are u sure hes not ready for weaning? i think it seems like a classic sign and from wat u have been saying about him in the weaning forum he sounds like a hungry little chappy!! also is he not teething? Alfie is really clingy atm and we have had a few night of him being awful when trying to get him to sleep. Normally we wud put him down awake and he would go to sleep himself but lately he just screams when u put him down until u rock him off to sleep.

If its not any of them i wud think maybe he is getting used to all the atention every time he cries. Maybe let him cry it out and see if he will eventualy realise your not gonna come and pick him up and wil fall back asleep?

I agree with Amy. I think maybe it's time for some neeps and tatties hun. Try him on a little bit of baby rice/porridge at dinner time and see if it helps at all? Probably wont be instant as he may not take much to start with but if he is waking hungry after a period of sleeping through its a classic weaning sign.

neeps and tatties hahaha we got some bowls and things and are going to pick up a highchair tomorrow when john wakes up from nightshift so he will be having some ricey treats this weekend (daddy wants to be there for his first noms which is nice )

i think its a combination of being ready to wean and teething cos he has red little cheeks again - i started having newborn flashbacks though
