I don't know if you remember a while back on facebook we were discussing chocolate buttercream and were saying how we couldn't get a decent one, so used Betty Crocker, well I think I've cracked it!!!
I've just made a batch up and it's delicious
Make your usual buttercream with just icing sugar and butter, then add chocolate ganache to it and mix up.
To make the ganache I used 150g of dark chocolate and 150g of milk chocolate and 300ml of cream, I melted the chocolate first in a bowl, heat up the cream to almost boiling point, then whisk the two together, then added to the buttercream. I guess if you wanted it richer, you could use all dark chocolate or all milk choc for a softer flavour.
The only problem is I want to eat it all now
