| Well, today was the day I had to sign Aimee up for pre-school They dont take them on until they are 3. I put my application in and was given a letter that said 'your child is on the waiting list, bla bla bla... if given a space your child will be able to start in the September after their 3rd birthday or the following Easter'. So... does that mean that she will have to wait until she is 3 1/2 until she can go? I just dont get it! x |

| I am not sure but i suppose if there birthday was in October then they would start them at Easter rather than them having to wait another whole year? |

| I have just re-read the letter...
Apparently it appears we wont find out until Easter 2012 if she has a space for Sept 2012, where she will then be 3 yrs and 7 months old.
Not very good really. I cant even pay for her to go early at that nursery as they wont take them any earlier and its joined to the school she will go to so dont want to send her anywhere else.
Doh!

| I found this on the gov website
When your child qualifies for a free place The table below shows when your child will become eligible for their free early learning place.
If your child is born between:1 April and 31 August They are eligible for a free place from: 1 September following their third birthday until statutory school age If your child is born between:1 September and 31 December They are eligible for a free place from: 1 January following their third birthday until statutory school age If your child is born between: 1 January and 31 March They are eligible for a free place from: 1 April following their third birthday until statutory school age So, as she is a 4th Feb baby, she will be able to go from 1st April 2012 (I think!) |

I can take her for free sessions there where I stay, which I will prob just do that until I can get her in x |

| It could be that its just a busy nursery/pre school, so to be on the safe side they give you the September term time maybe |

| You've had to register her already? I haven't even thought about it and Chloe is only a week behind Aimee, I thought you had to wait until after their second birthday? |

I rang the nursery a few months ago and asked when I needed to do it, and she said it was yesterday. There were loads of mums doing it when I got there. It might be worth calling the one you want and finding out so you can get her on the list if you need to x |

| I dont understand it all either. I did lillie before the schools broke up, and still not heard anything back... should I ring up I dunno. But no I dont understand it all. I rand the school up mand and she told me to get it in ASAP when I told her lillies age. BUt dont know if it was because I want her to go to a school out of our catchment area. Also sign her up for their playschool to which they will take her from 2. But I only filled in one form.. so does it do both Im really not sure. very confusing!! |
