| First topic message reminder :
I just wondered what your family/friends/oh's know about Banda, How much you tell them about it?
When i was on ab i use to say i was on a baby site and there were a few ladies i spoke to, Mainly the sept 09 mums.
My oh once said he thought it was odd and couldn't understand why i wanna talk to strangers about stuff. After that i have never really said much about any sites at all.
He knows i go on a web site, he has no idea its Banda, I don't tend to talk about whats said on here because it's private to me. My friends and family again, know i go on a baby site but don't know which one.
I've kinda shot myself in the foot being so quiet about it i think, It's one of the reason's i'm not going to the night out. OH doesn't understand it at all, cant comprehend that i actually have 'friendships' with people on here. i don't think he realises the amount of time i spend on here and that you guys are better 'friends' than my so called real friends.
So how do i help oh understand? i don't want him anywhere near the site, this is my safe place, I can talk about what i want when i want and not get judged by anyone. I can rant as much as needed and there's no come back.
I've been speaking to some of you for over two years, you probably know more about me than most and yet it's like your my secret friends if that makes sense? |

| My OH knows that I am on BANDA, but only knows it as 'Banda', not babies and all.
He always jokes saying he is going to join... but I would have to beg Lisa to ban him if he did!
He knows I come on here and moan about him too... I guess he would rather that than have me chewing his ear off. We both win!
Nobody else knows about it though, when im talking about you lot, I say 'my mummy friends'.

| My OH and my mum and sisters know i come on here. My OH is *fairly* understanding. He knows i meet some of you sometimes and that ive got soe of you i text offline too and hes pretty uderstanding about the fact i use it for support and moaning though i dont think he totally gets how i regard you guys as being as good as or probably better than some of my real friends-when laura passed for example he was a bit like 'thats sad but not one of your mates then' and had to explain that actually yes it was one of my mates. My mum is totally understanding of it and wishes she had access to somethig like that herself.
Otherwise i dont mention it to other friends and family |

| I tell anyone who asks about Banda and how fantastic it is.
OH knows about it and other than the regular moans that I spend more time with you lot than him he doesn't mind really. He even asks me to post occasionally if he wants to know something.
My family don't really get it so I don't bother sharing (that goes for most things I do not just Banda) |

| russ knows about you and i ask his opinion sometimes about topics, althoguh not the personal ones.
i tried to tell bestmate (SIL) but she didnt get it, and i dont mention it at work as its very private to me and they wouldnt get it, some of them dont get fb, but then i blocked the ones that use it anyway.
i love that i have this, and russ gets it, he got the candle for laura, he just gets taht it helps me |

| My OH is on forums a lot as well - he's mad about Doctor Who and is quite geeky about that on line.
I got into forums for the first time when I was pg and found it really really supportive to get to know other mums in exactly the same stage as me - good ol' DeeCee was only a few days ahead, bless her. And I met Awla of course, who had wisdom beyond her years.
I found myself too busy to post when Imogen came along but now we have a decent routine going (at LAST!!) and I'm here again!
I was surprised by how much losing Awla rocked me but OH was really good about it as he had experienced something similar and understood what it felt like. I couldn't tell anyone at work though, I think they would have thought I was mad, but inside I was screaming out "My friend died the other day!!!"
I don't think any of my offline friends would fail to understand, it's just that most of them either haven't tried it, don't feel the need to, or don't have time to.
I'm so glad I came back to Banda though, can't believe I was away for so long! And when I snoop on 'the other forum' now, it just doesn't feel as welcoming somehow. Prob cos all you guys are over here nowadays! |

| perry knows about banda, same as when i was on the other forum allof the time he knew about that too.
but i dont think he knows the webaddress for banda.. but it wouldnt be hard for him tot find as i have it on my pages things on google chrome, so all he would have to do is log on my user n then its there. but he used firefox lol.
my mum n friends know i use baby forums, but they dont know what x |
