I have had a card through the door from Royal mail wanting £1.12 for an item that has not had enough postage put on it.

This includes a £1 admin charge thingy, so the total cost was only 12p short.

Its going to cost me another £4 in petrol to get to the post office where its being held, so I am looking at approximately £5 to get it!

I have a feeling its going to be a birthday card for Lily and I will be severely naffed off if I get there and have had to pay that much money, a) because its birthday card and b) because its late! (birthday was last Friday).

So, shall I just ignore it?

Depends if you know for sure who it from and there aint money or vouchers in it? Be a shame to miss £10-£20 or not to be able to thank someone.

Is there nothing else near the PO? Sort of make it more worthwhile taking the trip?

U could always bill your SS in the new year if it is!!!

You can pay the fee online and have it sent - saves driving to the collection office!

I think it says the address on the card, something like royalmail.com/fees

i'd collect because you never know what it could be

I was going to say the same as Lisa, you can pay online and get it delivered. I'd be too curious to not collect it! Last time this happened to me there was a £30 voucher in the card so worth it! x

Im sure that there wont be any money in it as she has had everything from everybody we know of.

The only thing I can think is my SIL has sent a card but we havent had it yet, so I bet its that. There is no present in it as we are picking that up on Thursday.

Sod it, im going to leave it and not bother x

Im sure its not. It says 'Miss' L Treleaven on the Royal Mail card.

If there is a chance that it is, can somebody get somebody else to tell me and I will arrange to get it .

Id have to pick it up. The curiosity would kill me. Surely if its a card it would just be a stamp? How would it be 12p under? Ooooooh I need to know lol x

It's probably got a badge on it which makes it large letter instead of normal. They did exactly the same with one of Ollie's bday cards.

If im passing I will go and get it, but I dont tend to go anywhere near that part of town usually (unless its good post im waiting for ) x

Ok, im totally thick. If you turn the card over there is a bit to put stamps/franking labels on. I will frank it at work tomorrow and send it off, that way I wont be annoyed if I spend all that cash on a birthday card x
