There is a woman that goes to my local baby club and we have just found out that she smokes weed/gree/grass/pot whatever you call it.
She has admitted that she smokes it when her baby is in bed and insists that she doesn't smoke so much that she is unable to take care of her baby.
I am about the only one there now that speaks to her.
My thinking is yes, its wrong to smoke the stuff but if her baby is still safe and well thats all that matters. She adores her baby and buys him everything that he needs.
She is a very good mum xx

TBH I don't think smoking weed is as bad as drinking.
It is a lot easier to function when stoned than when drunk x
( I know this from my terenage rebellion years )
Her baby is always clean and happy and healthy. No health problems at all x

If I thought that what she was doing was putting her baby in danger then of course I would do something. xxx

why would she openly talk about it though, surely you wouldn't mention that at a mum/baby group. Personally I don't agree but it wouldn't stop me from speaking to her

She was talking to me and someone overheard her.
I don't think it makes her a bad person though, she is still the same person she was before I found out. xxx

It is a difficult one! If she smokes in the house when baby is upstairs then I think she is in the wrong but like you say if baby is always well looked after then there are worse things she could be doing! She is very brave and honest to talk about though, so deserves some credit for that!

I think the others are wrong for being judgemental!

The only thing I disagree with realy is if she's smoking it in the house

There is a huge stigma attached to smoking coochie, because of all the info that is thrown out there. It is proven to be a gateway drug to more heavier and serious narcotics that are out there. We know soooo many people that smoke it like cigarettes, and they "try" to keep it away from the kids, but the kids are totally aware of it. Marijuana is more potent than cigs, and the second smoke would be as well.. and should be nowhere inside the house near her baby. They have also proven a new condition called 3rd hand smoke..which is the residue that clings to the body or is seeped out in the pores via sweat or body oils. If she is BF, that is something that shouldn't be done as it does cross into the breast milk. I don't care of ppl chose to smoke ganja, it's their business..but when the kids come in contact with it..that's not fair at all. xxx

I think this is a hard one. Personally I don't agree with having it around a baby, or in the same house, but there are also worst things she could be doing.

Does her oh do it too? I only ask, as if one of us wants a drink then the other wouldn't touch a drop just to make sure that if something went wrong we could deal with it.

At the end of the day though, it's your choice who you talk to so the other mums are in the wrong for saying you shouldn't.

They do both smoke it but never together unless their baby is with grandparents for the night xxx

Its up to you who you are friends with. Yes there are worse things she could be doing but i dont agree with her doing it when baby is in the house. Like Jen said it can cling to things etc. What if the baby was ill and she was stoned?

as long as the baby is okie n looks like he/she is getting love then its not really a prob i guess. the only thing which i canm see bad in it is that she smokes in the house. also, (knowing from my college years n what not) what would happen if some thing happened to the baby n she was stoned? i wouldnt like to be stoned n some thing to happen to moo bag.. xx

I don't think you're wrong for being her friend, but I don't approve of smoking weed at all, I've seen it lead to other things so many times, so um completely against it. Especially whilst in charge of kids.

a fe of my friends smoke weed and they have kids but they only do it one a weekend when the kids arent in the house.

i do disagree with them doing it while the kids are in the house but i dont think it shud stop anybody from being their friends. as long as the kids are well looked after thats all that matters!!
