I just wondered what your family/friends/oh's know about Banda, How much you tell them about it?

When i was on ab i use to say i was on a baby site and there were a few ladies i spoke to, Mainly the sept 09 mums.
My oh once said he thought it was odd and couldn't understand why i wanna talk to strangers about stuff. After that i have never really said much about any sites at all.
He knows i go on a web site, he has no idea its Banda, I don't tend to talk about whats said on here because it's private to me. My friends and family again, know i go on a baby site but don't know which one.

I've kinda shot myself in the foot being so quiet about it i think, It's one of the reason's i'm not going to the night out. OH doesn't understand it at all, cant comprehend that i actually have 'friendships' with people on here. i don't think he realises the amount of time i spend on here and that you guys are better 'friends' than my so called real friends.

So how do i help oh understand? i don't want him anywhere near the site, this is my safe place, I can talk about what i want when i want and not get judged by anyone. I can rant as much as needed and there's no come back.

I've been speaking to some of you for over two years, you probably know more about me than most and yet it's like your my secret friends if that makes sense?

My hubby knows all about BANDA and he is fine with it x He understands that I need to talk to someone and he loves that I can confide in you ladies
He has even started asking me if I want to go on the computer and check BANDA
My MIL knows I use a baby forum and knows of BANDA and she again is totally fine with it. My stepmum doesn't know and I won't tell her about it.
I haven't told my brother and sister as they are totally stupid and hate all forums/chatrooms and I know that they would not approve. I told them that I use a baby forum and they called me stupid for telling 'strangers' my personal life.

I know what u mean i dont think men will ever understand, i have just told my OH i am going on a night out with u ladies and he said the same.

I asked if i could go, he gave me his input and i said well i am going anyway lol.
His not bothered really he nows i ent silly and wouldnt put myself at risk meeting people off the net i dont trust.

I hve been on AB for 1 1/2 years and now on banda (as this was were everyone got to lol). Which is the same people. I have always talked to OH about this site his like me best buddy too.

His prob just being protective of you.

i used to tell matt about what was said on here. He knew i moaned etc on here. He actively encouraged me to go to the cheshire meet. He didn't mind at all. It went in one ear and forgot about it by the time it came out the other lol. He loved the caption comp though x

hmmm my hubby knows all about banda (after me tormenting him for 8 months making him read ab and other various baby things hahaha). he has posted on here a few times too and he is fine with it. i think it's just the same as him posting on motorbike forums or whatever - i dont think i would ever post anything that i didnt want him to read, if it was something awful then i hope i would talk to him about it

im not sure how you can approach it with your oh, if you really want to keep it private then i wouldn't mention it, but if you want him to talk about it then maybe say its similar to facebook or something?

James knows about it and to my family it the baby forum I use !! Was trying to explain about Laura and the night out and my friends/family were all confused why thirds random people were meeting... James obv understood my upset with Laura, like some of the other have said it's about 2.5 hrs we've been chatting... Reckon that kinda classes as friends does it not.?

By the way I'm not going to night out as too far to travel alone and no childcare . Would love to go though xx

well that knob head of an ex only found the site cos he checked my emails and found out...and he is always on here reading up, i was so angry that even this cant be private, if it was up to me he wouldnt know
people know i go on a baby site, my mum even knows iv met some of you and im going on the night out, i dont think she fully understands though tbh xx

i keep my forum use private except to OH ,,,, i like having you lot to come to about things, OH would never come on here himself and he knows loads that goes on but he still does not understand it properly ,,,, will say to me but how do you know she aint a 50 year old balding man etc etc x

my oh understands although he thinks the night out is a bit strange.

I keep it private from friends and other family though, i think they might find it a bit weird. I probably would have before i joined , it surprised me how close you can feel to people that you've never met.

My oh knows I use them (i only found this site recently but he knew about ab) as its where I get most of my information from. I don't think he understands how you come to think of people as friends though but he isn't even on facebook. My mum and sister know as well

My oh knows i go on here. He knew about ab too. He doesn't think it's weird, he understands we talk about anything and everything. I think he thinks its good for him, and he don't have to listen to me all night He's not the type to go on the site and check up on me so i don't worry about that.

My family know i go on a baby site. I didn't say the name of ab for a while cause i didn't want Matts family to know but i think eventually they found out. They know i've changed websites but again havent let them know the name as i like having a place for me. Bit selfish but ah well.

I don't think its selfish. Its nice to have a place where you can say what you want without having to worry if you're going to upset your mil or something like that. Besides I think its easier to chat sometimes when its people who don't know you in real life

my oh knows i come on here, he goes on his poker forums so he doesnt mind although he does *^$% me and says ill still be coming on here when evan is in his 30s!! or he will say evan isnt a baby anymore why do u still go on a pregnancy forum! doh! i have explained its not jst pregnancy and baby but don think he listens!!

my OH knows when I was on AB and here. he would never come on here tho so dont worry hehe he goes on his own forums for things (hence why I cant get on here in eve as he hoggs it)

but friends wise, if we're talking about things and one of you ladies had it or something, Il say oh yeah my friend had that. their like who?? as we all know everyone so to speak. when I say on a baby forum, (dont tell them which one though) they look at me like im mad.
But one of my friends who has just had a baby, who never went on forums I know she goes on now, im sure shes trying to find me.. but dont think she has or she would have said. hehe I want it to me!!!

My o/h knows all about Banda , he knows it helps me get through what we have had to deal with.

I don't say anything on here that he doesn't know or that I wouldn't tell him, infact I don't really moan about him on here to much, just the usual man things about cleaning etc that most of us say.
He is a very private person, doesn't like me talking about our relationship with friends/family he thinks everything should be between just us.
It's a control thing more than anything I suppose, he's not been a saint at all and because of it my family don't like him so if I did need to talk about anything major I really only have you guys I could turn to.

I find it all too easy to talk to people so having an outlet should I ever need it is important to me, a virtual one works for me to because Altho people may judge or think I'm crazy etc it's ok because you'll tell me and then we move onto other conversations! There's no dwelling and more than likely it gets forgotten by most by the end of the week or something more interesting happens lol!

I think I'm gonna continue to keep you all as my little secret 'friends' just means I don't get to go out galavanting with you but I can deal with that.

Yes you are all my secret friends really. Gav knows about Banda and i talk about you ladies quite alot. And altho i think he does find it weird he understand its my get a away and i can talk to you ladies about anything.

When i booked brum i just told people that im going away with some mummies i met at a baby class haha. I deffo dont wanna talk about banda and i dont want anyone interrupting my special place ha x
